When to transfer to Interactive Investor
The referral offer has no published end date. Separately, a £100–£5,000 cashback offer runs until 30 November 2026. What matters is your portfolio size, how long your transfer takes, and whether that dated offer is worth aiming for — without rushing a bad transfer. Checked on ii.co.uk .
Capital at risk. New ii customers only; add or transfer £5,000+ within 12 months. Full terms. Referral link: we may earn a reward from ii if you qualify.
The short answer
Is now a good time to move?
ii says it periodically runs offers and “there will likely be other opportunities in the future”, but it doesn’t announce them in advance.
- You’re ready to move nowNo need to wait for the referralIt has no published end date, and the 12-month window to add £5,000 starts when you open the account.
- You want the live cashbackBy 30 Nov 2026Until 30 November 2026, new customers can get £100–£5,000 cashback on a new SIPP, ISA or Trading Account. Open your new accounts and instruct £20,000+ of transfers, or pay in, by 30 November (added up across your new accounts); a transfer then has a year to complete. Not for anyone who was an ii customer on or before 31 October 2026. ii: don’t rush a transfer just to meet the deadline — other offers may run later.

What affects timing
Five things that actually matter
These come from ii’s published referral terms and charges, checked .
The 12-month funding window
The £5,000 has to arrive within a year of opening, and a transfer counts only once it completes. Allow time for slow transfers, especially pensions.
How long transfers take
According to ii, ISA transfers typically take up to four weeks for cash and six for investments, and longer if your current provider is slow. You open the ii account first, then request the transfer from inside ii.
Time out of the market
An in-specie transfer moves your holdings as they are. A cash transfer sells them first, so you’re out of the market until it completes. ii charges nothing for either.
Your plan
The six free months only apply on Core or Plus. Upgrading to Premium ends them, and moving back doesn’t restart them.
Pension safeguards
Before moving a pension, check for exit fees and make sure you won’t lose valuable benefits such as guaranteed annuity rates, a lower protected pension age or matching employer contributions.
